Valley of Fire Rocks

Just a short drive north of Las Vegas is the Valley of Fire State Park. After driving about an hour through dessert and mountains that appear to meld right into one another in a blend of grays and light browns, I drove down a canyon road that twisted and turned so many times I barely rose above 35 MPH. After one final curve surrounded by mountain side, the valley opened up to reveal giant bright red and orange rocks jutting out of the brown and gray dessert surrounding it. Truly a magnificent sight.
